Shifts+ Privacy Policy
Shifts+ (“the app”) is developed and published by Reimel Ltd. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information.
What we collect: nothing
We do not collect, receive, store, transmit or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Reimel Ltd never sees where you work, when you worked, or what you are paid.
Your jobs, pay rates, shifts, breaks and settings are stored only on your own device, in the app’s private storage. Android’s automatic cloud backup is switched off for this app, so that data is not copied to Google Drive either. If you want a copy, you make it yourself with Settings › Backup, and you choose where the file goes.
Internet access, and why the app asks for it
Shifts+ includes an optional one-time purchase, Shifts+ Pro, which unlocks multiple jobs, per-template pay rates, PDF and CSV timesheet exports and automatic dated backups. To offer that, the app includes Google Play Billing, and that is the only reason it declares these permissions:
com.android.vending.BILLING– lets Google Play process the one-time Shifts+ Pro purchase.android.permission.INTERNET– required by Google Play Billing to reach Play’s servers.android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE– required by Google Play Billing to check connectivity.
The tracking itself never uses the network. No shift, break, rate or note is ever sent anywhere. The only outbound traffic the app can generate is Google Play checking whether you own Shifts+ Pro, completing that purchase if you choose to make it, and showing Google Play’s own “rate this app” prompt.
Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. Reimel Ltd does not receive or store your name, email address, or any payment details. Google’s own privacy policy covers that transaction: policies.google.com/privacy.
The other permissions the app asks for
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS– shows the notification that appears while a shift is running, with its Stop and Break buttons. Android asks you for this, and refusing it costs you the notification and nothing else: the timer keeps running.android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED– lets the app put that same notification back after you restart your phone, if a shift was still running. It does nothing else at start-up, and no part of the app runs in the background when no shift is open.android.permission.USE_BIOMETRICandandroid.permission.USE_FINGERPRINT– only for the optional App lock in Settings, which asks for your fingerprint or face before Shifts+ opens. Android performs that check itself and simply tells the app yes or no: your fingerprint or face is never seen, read or stored by Shifts+, and nothing about it leaves your device. Leave App lock off and these are never used.
Some further permissions appear in the app’s technical manifest because the Android libraries it is built with declare them. They are not used to collect anything, and the app runs no background service.
Sharing and exporting
When you export a timesheet (PDF or CSV) or a backup file, the app writes it to the location you choose, or hands it to whichever app you pick from Android’s standard share sheet. Shifts+ does not upload it anywhere, and it only ever happens when you ask for it. If you turn on automatic backups, the app writes a dated file into the folder you picked, which may be a cloud-synced folder if that is what you chose. That choice is yours, and the app has no other destination.
Your pay figures
The pay the app shows is calculated on your device from the rates and rules you enter. It is a record for your own use, not payroll advice, and it is never transmitted to us, to your employer, or to anyone else.
Children
The app is intended for adults in work and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
Any update to this policy will be posted on this page, with the date at the top changed.
